Shopping and Dining

Don’t let Cottage Grove’s small size fool you – this All-American City is full of places to eat and things to do! Art galleries, museums, bookstores, cafes, boutiques, and antique shops line the streets of Cottage Grove’s pedestrian-friendly downtown. The Pink House on E. Main Street serves up some of the best club sandwiches, burgers, and milkshakes in town. Stacy’s Covered Bridge Restaurant, also on E. Main, features a good-sized menu and great service. Buster’s Main Street Café is one of the most popular restaurants in town. With its smoked pulled pork, Nutella Mascarpone Stuffed French Toast, and chicken fried steak, there’s sure to be something for everyone. The Bonanza Drive-Up on Highway 99 is known for its club basket, burgers, and hometown feel. Fresh, locally grown produce including jalapenos, tomatoes, and berries can be purchased at the Coast Fork Farm Stand. Cottage Grove also is home to numerous national favorites, including Sears, Wal-Mart, Dollar Tree, Walgreens, Carl’s Jr., McDonald’s, and Kentucky Fried Chicken.

Parks and Recreation

Lane County is known for its lakes, rivers, and mountains, and the area around Cottage Grove is no exception. Swimming, boating, camping, and picnicking are available at Dorena Lake and Cottage Grove Lake, both located within 10 minutes of downtown Cottage Grove. The course at Hidden Valley is at situated at the foot of Mount David. Children in the area also can participate in the annual elementary triathlon and several seasonal sports leagues.

Living

Nationally recognized for its communal spirit, town projects, and historic architecture, Cottage Grove is a wonderful place to call home. Residents come together to volunteer for community events and to enjoy annual and seasonal celebrations, including the Bohemia Mining Days and the Covered Bridge Festival. Additional events include Friday Art Walks, chili cook-offs, and outdoor concerts. Many of the buildings in Cottage Grove reflect the town’s 100-year-old mining history, which may be why it’s a Hollywood-backdrop favorite.
