Home Seller: Why Fall and Winter can be the best time to sell your home.
Good Monday Morning! The trend has always been that most sellers place their homes on the market in the Spring thinking that the Spring and Summer months are the best time to sell. The truth is that this is not always the case. Spring and Summer will typically see the highest number of homes on the market for sale. In the Eugene and Springfield area, Spring and Summer months are also busy because of the great weather. This is a time for vacations and other activities and many would be buyers are occupied. By contrast, the Fall and Winter months have a low inventory of homes for sale which means less competition and many years the buyers are out in force. With lower competition buyers have fewer homes to choose from and many years we find that we sell the homes that we have on the market in less time and for more money during a time that most people feel is the off season for home sales.
